Hello! I'm Alina — a designer who thinks in systems and designs for people

I'm a Senior Product Designer with 9+ years in the industry. I started as a motion designer, moved through graphic design and branding, and found my home in product design — where I can see the full picture and make products that truly work for the people who use them.

I've been in design for over 9 years, and the journey has been anything but linear. Starting with motion design taught me timing and storytelling. Graphic design and branding gave me a strong visual foundation. Eventually, product design became my focus — the discipline that brings everything together.

At Documentolog, I became the first designer in a 120-person company. I spent years building a design team from scratch, advocating for design's place at the table, and growing five designers — one of whom is now a team lead. I was voted Employee of the Year by both peers and management. That experience shaped how I see leadership: it's about teaching, not managing.

Today I work as a Senior Product Designer at the International Olympic Committee, designing for one of the most watched events on earth. It's a privilege I take seriously.

Systems thinking
I don't just design screens — I design the logic that holds them together. Design systems, flows, and documentation are as important to me as the final UI.
Proactive ownership
When I see a gap — in the product, process, or team — I fill it. I've built design systems, created documentation, and advocated for design maturity all on my own initiative.
Cross-functional clarity
I know how to work with developers who have never had a designer before. I translate design into language that makes builds faster and outcomes better.
Range
Motion, branding, graphic, product. Nine years across disciplines means I approach every problem with a wider lens than most.
AI-augmented workflow
I use Figma + Claude Code as a daily design-to-build stack — from component export to full page generation. This portfolio was built exactly that way.
This portfolio was designed in Figma and built with Claude Code — no manual HTML/CSS written. Figma MCP → Claude Code → deployed.
Cognitive Psychology
& Neuropsychology

I study how the brain actually works — attention, memory, decision-making, trust — and apply that lens to how people experience AI interfaces. Most AI products are still designed around interaction metaphors that predate agents. The gap between cognitive reality and current UX conventions is, I think, one of the more interesting open problems in the field.

This also feeds directly into side projects like MnemNet — a memory architecture layer I built for AI agents, with temporal decay, contradiction handling, and a predictive layer, all grounded in how human memory actually encodes and forgets.
